An essential book for normal schools, for teacher training courses anywhere, for those working with young children, or planning a nursery school; for parents as well as teachers. But not for the general reader, unless specifically interested in the subject, as it is highly technical and requires a good deal of background knowledge of nursery schools, of child psychology, and so on. Theory and practice -- even down to specific charts for records on every aspect of the daily round. Blatz is one of the outstanding men in the field, and has several other books on this and kindred subjects. Excellent bibliography for each chapter, an important factor in a book of this sort.
