STRENGTHENING THE SPIRITUAL LIFE

Nels Ferre is winning an enviable reputation as one of the most brilliant of our younger Protestant theologians. He has written several scholarly books on theological subjects which have attracted wide attention. In this little book he reveals himself as a deeply religious person with a message to give about personal religious life which is fully as important as his learned treatment of theological subjects. He writes as a member of a practicing Christian family, relating simply and with genuine warmth the experiences that he and his family have had in developing together a life of prayer and devotion, linked to the practice of Christianity in daily life. He is very practical in his approach, endeavoring to suggest ways in which a routine for private prayer may be established, how small children may be led to participate in family devotions, how to find the time for prayer in busy lives. Every member of a Protestant Christian family would profit by a reading of this book. Warmly recommended.
