SMOKE JUMPERS

High but hackneyed adventure with the U.S. Forestry Patrols in the Pacific Northwest begins when nineteen year old Rick Harding, about to complete his training as a smoke jumper, is sent with his fellow cadets to their first station. But the station is near Rick's home and going there brings to life the mystery in his family- his father's disappearance with the returns from a fund for helping prisoners he had set up during the war. So training and firefighting progress amidst mixed loyalties and accusations until Rick and a friend come across two hijackers who admit to the murder of Mr. Harding and the plunder of the fund themselves. All this and techniques too- but the forestry as well as the plot, is forced.
