KIRKUS REVIEW

The fact that this author's Release From Nervous Tension is now in its 16th edition indicates a healthy market among the not so healthy victims of emotional or environmental maladjustment for this new book. With illustrations from his own practice, this skirts some general questions:- the varying degrees of nervous tension which cumulate in the nervous breakdown; hereditary versus environmental factors; identification patterns and labels; physical disorders which are entirely psychic in origin. But Dr. Fink centers his main discussion around the three causes of unbalance, biological tensions, environmental pressures, and your evaluations (attitudes). Some sound sense, raised to the stratum of this science, this is aimed at an average audience.
