KIRKUS REVIEW

Entertaining and devious. An uncle, whose death benefits the impoverished but delightful Lampreys, has been murdered. The Lampreys -- and the attractive Robin Grey, recently arrived from the Antipodes, are suspected. Handsome Alleyn, out of countenance by the deliberately screwball behavior of the Lampreys, finally unravels the mystery after another murder has taken place. Plenty of red herrings.
