THE WIDOW'S CRUISE

The background to this puzzler is a ship's cruise to Greek islands and Nigel Strangoways and his attendant Clare Massinger, the sculptor, are witnesses to a developing situation among some of the passengers. The vanishing -- and death- of a charming widow's ugly sister; the possibly simultaneous killing of a little girl; the situation regarding blackmail; the issue of a discredited scholar -- these make up Strangeways' time-pressed schedule -- and a turn-about ending.
