Vinnie comes to stay with her friend Damaris whose father Ross has a fabulous collection of Italianate objets d'art. Including a poison ring. Damaris however has more than a case of nerves over the apparitions of the mother she is said to have killed. Apparently she's being slowly poisoned. . . . Attar of arsenic and tuberoses--they're said to be the dangerous pleasures--for those other ladies of the evening and quite all right as Boston Renaissance Gothic.
