In the beginning was the beat and it came into its own with Bill Haley whose Comets soared until the Pelvis arrived to drive America's little women into ""mainline sexual fantasy."" This is a very personal rehash of all that has happened since by an author who considers Elvis Mr. Super Sound and regards the Beatles as a passing fancy.
