FOLLOW THE SUNSET

By

Publisher: Doubleday

This is, perhaps, closer to You Among the Stars than it is to the other young science books, but stands apart in its purpose --not to answer the Whys and Hows so much as to convey a rhythmic sense of the earth in revolution, night following day, and day night, round the world. A sort of illusion of one world, through the repetition of familiar customs, of the security of family affection, of the unfailing operation of science's laws. At first, the child will need to have it read and explained, and the shadow on the globe progressing from east to west pointed out. With repetition, the larger pictures -- doublespreads in sunset colors, by Lucille Corcos, carry the sense of the patterned prose; Paper and heavy board.
