MOTHER GOOSE HANDICRAFT by Nina R. Jordan

MOTHER GOOSE HANDICRAFT

By

Pub Date: Sept. 13th, 1945
Publisher: Harcourt, Brace

A how-to-do book which needs grownup help at the start. The do-it-yourself parts are pleasantly simple, but the vocabulary of the directions is beyond the understanding level of the Mother Goose devotees. Black and white illustrations are factual, sound but uninspired, a bit on the dull side. There's some plus interest to craft teachers and primary grade teachers, and a gift appeal for those seeking something for convalescent children, for rainy day occupation, for buyers of ""The Devil makes work for idle hands"" school. The book is almost a primer handicraft book, designed for suggesting making of paper dolls and toys based on familiar characters, and using simple equipment.
