KIT KOALA by Ninon

Email this review

Third and fourth graders are especially interested in strange animals from distant parts- in this case a little Koala bear. Slight story, but a quick, easy picture of life in a bit of Australian wilderness. Kit was lazy- he was shy- and he wouldn't help his mother, as the other little bears were doing, by climbing on her back and getting the new green leaves. She couldn't go along with the other Koalas either until he got out of her pocket. Other animals came around, and were having so much fun that finally curiosity brought him out- and the day was saved....The pictures by Ninon accompanying each page of text-are so important that we ought to see them before recommending this. Vocabulary and type-face excellent for beginning readers.
