QUICKSAND

Overheated, overplayed passion tale, set in Nassau, and quite smothered by tempestuous emotionalism, stagey dialogue and bougainvillea. All about the glamorous, aristocratic, traveled and ultra-beautiful Franhams, and Alixe, the girl who was to devastate father and son. The denouement recalls the kind of unrestrained lovetorn stuff Michael Arlen once indulged in, minus Arlen's wit and facility. Rentals -- cheap ones.
