YOU WOULD IF YOU LOVED ME

Episodic exploration of the teen-age readership's quest for answers to all the contemporary moral dilemmas in a self-righteous Peyton-Placed story. Undistinguished Trudy and very distinguished Tom are unduly preoccupied with sex in terms of their steady relationship; while all the high-schoolers are campaigning for the election of a progressive mayoralty candidate the debate rages--does she or doesn't she? and more importantly should she or shouldn't she? Tom and another male canvasser encounter an inviting divorcee, Mal ponders putting the campaign ahead of his ""fast"" girl and fights a bout with available pot, Trudy confronts Tom's ""You would if you loved me"" fearing, rightly, his rejection if she won't. . . . Too preachy for the ""experienced"" and too provocative for the uninitiated, this is more unsettling than salutary reading.
