IMPATIENT JONATHAN by Norah; Illus. Margo Locke Smaridge

Email this review

Jonathan Francis Gray raced through everything in his way; from morning ereal to games at school and finally his prayers at night. After losing all his friends, he gradually slowed down and received a puppy as a reward. The storyteller may become impatient with the rhymes into which words are sometimes forced and phrases disjointed; the use of upper case letters for emphasis is pointless. A sing-songy quality is dominant in the text which is not given much support by the unexceptional art work.
