Strains hard but manages some bits of fun as private detective Doan, his great Dane, Carstairs, and schoolteacher on the loose, Janet, manage to put Mexican history to use, commit several necessary killings, and solve some murders that others do. Earthquake helps the confusion and Doan, through Carstairs, is able to save Janet when she is captured. Rough and ready humor.
