KIRKUS REVIEW

Middling-modern rental yarn, good enough in its way. The story of dreamy-eyed Pat who comes to New York and falls in love with an ambitious and penniless young engineer. The story is also of the rest of the crowd in her house, -- Emily, who owns the house, her son Chug who goes off the path and steals some money, the domestic, wholesome young fiancee who loses out to the glamor girl, and so on. Pat has her share of heartache, when she finds that wealth is a barrier that had been hidden from her. Rift -- reconciliation -- a happy ending. On the sentimental side -- but should please.
