TIGER OF BITTER VALLEY

Little Rimau left Rocky Hills Village in Northern Sumatra, where his father was chief, to escape the evil spell cast by medicine man Godah, for Godah resented the encouragement given to scientists distributing smallpox vaccine. The wandering boy came to the Bitter Valley Village, where he saved the village from a predatory tigress and rescued madman, Kala, and helped to restore him to sanity. Easy language, large type, and some violence could mark this for boys who like excitement but find reading difficult.
