FOR WHAT DO WE FIGHT?

The author of The Great Illusion restates his case on the basis of the present war. He expounds and amplifies his theory that only on cooperation between nations can a lasting peace be built. He takes issue with the claim that in the elimination of Naziism lies the answer. His criticism is not confined to Germany and Russia, but to the Allies of the last war, the neutrals of this. He takes up point by point the reasons for failure in the League, in the last peace, and pleads for the present as the opportunity for a basis of real union.
