A rather difficult text, retaining much British terminology, is accompanied by unattractive and somewhat unclear (though accurate) line drawings, making up a package which is simply not competitive with the best of current American presentations. It ranges over most of the common sources of energy and modes of turning such energy into usable power; but so do De Camp (now o.p.) and Epstein and Adler and . . . .
