KIRKUS REVIEW

For him, there's John Collier, Ogden Nash, Stephen Potter, Thurber, Irwin Shaw, de Maupassant, Conrad Aiken, among the best known of some thirty contributors.... for her there's John O'Hara, Paul Gallico, Phyllis McGinley and Dorothy Parker, M.F.K. Fisher and Mary Roberts Rinehart, etc.... for him there's sports, science fiction, war, women, a poker game, an Ed Murrow broadcast.... for her, along with assorted stories and verse, a little about the bedroom and the budget, fashion and food.... and for them both- companion pieces which provide a great deal of well -bred entertainment, selections which are more unfamiliar than familiar to offer a nice night-table combination and very suitable week-end gift.
