THE MARINES IN REVIEW

A somewhat different sort of factual book about the Marines, for the author has managed to link his background and historical material with the actual demonstrations of the Marines in action at Guadalcanal, Wake, Midway, etc. He gives one all the functions of the Marine corps, when and why and where first instituted, and how the training applies. He discusses training for officers and men, for special services, the branches of the Marines, the equipment, the degrees of specialization. A good general picture, to fit into a certain amount of background.
