KIRKUS REVIEW

Yet another gold mine adventure, with a satisfactory number of clues and shimmering rewards at the end of the search. Young Ted Wilford and a friend run smack dab into a mystery when they discover that the death of an recluse, Old Goldie, hides some fascinating information about a gold mine. A defunct mining partnership, a stranger, photographs, the uncovering of family history, and some nearly disastrous exploring bring happy results. Too much talk-talk at the end, but on the whole reliable mine-line mystery.
