With this new entry in the Can You Say It Too? series, the simple, lift-the-flap peekaboo fun continues.

In a repeating pattern, readers encounter a “who’s that” question on the left with the answer revealed behind a large, easy-to-grab flap on the right. The question “Who’s that on the rocks?” for example, is answered by lifting a large rock-shaped flap: “It’s a noisy seal! Arf! Arf!” Next, readers find a “friendly dolphin” behind a sailboat, a “hungry seagull” next to a beach ball, and a “busy crab” beside a sand castle. On the final pages, a “happy fish” hides behind some seaweed. Behind this fish is another surprise: “her babies! Glug! Glug! Glug!” The digitally rendered beach-themed illustrations all feature contented-looking critters and interesting, colorful backgrounds. Also in the Can You Say It Too? series, Quack! Quack! follows the same formula, with a duck, a bee, a caterpillar, a frog, and a mouse doing the hiding this time.

The soothing repetition, use of familiar animals and sounds, and peekaboo theme make this story selection and its companion good picks for the littlest listeners.
