THE DREAM FACTORY

Little Baa Baa has trouble sleeping at night till Grandma takes her on an aerial journey to the Dream Factory: a house where other sheep are at work manufacturing dreams from fluffy white wool that looks rather like clouds. The factory is intriguing; a lot is going on, including such old-fashioned activities as knitting and wafting dreams out with a bellows, but there are also a business-like drawing-board and a high-tech inspired machine--with a wind-up key. Baa Baa gets to play with the dreams, and even take one home. . .and then there's no more trouble going to sleep. Karlin's cheerful, imaginative illustrations in heavy black line, filled in with pleasant, bright colors, are the best feature of this slight story.
