SAINT JOHN OF THE CROSS

If your customers have fallen in with the renewed interest in the doctrine of St. John of God, they'll simply have to read Father Bruno's life of this Saint. The book is a study of the life and person of the Doctor of the Universal Church. It is a full-length biography based on methods of right historic criticism. Not only the historian but the ascetic as he reads along will be delighted with abundant references used by the author to establish clearly and certainly his thesis on St. John and his doctrine. Both historian and ascetic can and will be sure of their knowledge as they accompany Father Bruno from page to page. The documentation is so abundant and thorough that future study of the life of St. John can only supply details. No wonder the book has been ""crowned"" by the French Academy. All lovers of the Little Flower, of the great Reformer St. Teresa, and of the ancient Order of Cramel will want a copy of this book for their desk. The library of every religious community should count the book for its own. And by the way, the book should make excellent reading for religious men and women.
