TROUBADOUR OF THE STARS

Following the idea of the de Harzanyi The Stargazer, which told of Galileo, this chronicles the life of Kepler, mathematician of the 16th-17th centuries. Here, in a highly interpretative fashion, is the story of the German boy, of undistinguished parentage, who attained high positions and fame throughout the world of his day, who suffered for his beliefs, who fought for his theories. Influenced early by ideas of Copernicus, he became intimate with Galileo and Tycho Brahe, was appointed imperial mathematician, founded three laws that bear his name in science, saw his mother persecuted for witchcraft, married twice, and according to this fictionized account lived his life intensely, courageously and well. Can't see this as tops.
