KIRKUS REVIEW

Time-consuming advice for women from a Los Angeles skincare specialist. Henriksen spikes the text with celebrity profiles, but even discovering the skin care habits of Jayne Kennedy, Natassia Kinski, and Lee Merriwether (""Lee loves makeup. . . She prefers earth tones around her large eyes. . ."") doesn't pep up this routine advice. On the basis that healthy skin reflects a healthy body, there are diet and exercise tips; also, homemade skin care products are lauded throughout (with recipes for the likes of ""cell renewal scrub""--oatmeal, cornmeal, yogurt, and oil). A seven-day program is laid out, in which each day offers a bit more basic information and another addition to the daily routine. ""Radiant skin for a Lifetime"" then details morning and evening routines (some mandatory, some optional) for longtime use. For sound, non-obsessive information, see the Stern-bergs' Great Skin At Any Age (1983).
