THE BEDOUINS

A pedestrian inspection of the Bedouins, without the congenial ambience of Raswan's Drinkers of the Wind but organized for, say, a school assignment. The code of the desert--hospitality, tribal solidarity, and formerly prevalent warfare--is described and examples of seasonal migrations are given. Life in a ""typical"" camp, superstitions, customs and religious practices are also presented and the accompanying photographs show the intricacies of coffee-making as well as more expectable scenes of sand and tents and camels. Descriptive rather than incisive, although there is some information on increasing difficulties with government officials.
