Second string Prouty, not measuring up to the really sound psychological novel, Now, Voyager, this is the contrived story of a young man whose life has been devoted to an attempt to equal the record of his older brother. After an accident, a period of unconsciousness, he finds that this little world thinks he has died a hero's death. So he destroys the evidence of his survival, goes away and for two years lives as another person. He falls in love, and when the war comes, tells the girl his story. She covers for him, and he goes into the navy where he becomes a real hero- and his pictures in the paper give him back his identity. A readable enough yarn, but superficial and unimportant. Rentals chiefly.
