KIRKUS REVIEW

In 1929 a great reindeer trek occurred in which three thousand reindeer travelled two thousand miles from Alaska through Canada. Present at the advent of their trip is Randy, the son of an American meteorologist. Through his Eskimo friends, Randy learns that Silver King, an albino reindeer believed to have been descended from royal stock, is being taken on the trek. But Silver King runs away and Randy together with the Eskimo children in pursuing him uncover a vicious plot to steal the animals, a plot in which Silver King shows himself to be an animal of heroic proportions. A lively story with an interesting background of locale and activity.
