MYSTERY OF THE SUNKEN CITY

The prospect of ma to Jamaica evokes fantastic dreams of pirates and buried treasure is the fertile imagination of young Jeffrey.. Once settled on the banana plantation his father has come to manage, Jeffrey literally makes his dreams come true. First there is the phantom ship seen only by Jeffrey and a superstitious islander. Then there is the strange treasure found beneath a legealary tree. But Jeffrey and his friend David are really enthralled by the beings aboard the Sea a ""sea-going lab"" busily engaged in submarine . As artifacts from the underwater city of Port Royal emerge, thieves from the ""phantom ship"" are thwarted by our two young heroes and science and reason prevail. Despite its setting, the story falls on several counts. Cumbersome dialogue (""These men are characters"",). adventure and an unwholesome picture of modern day islanders ring false notes throughout.
