PETER'S STORY GOES TO PRESS

By

Publisher: Holt

I've put this under the 12 to 15 year old heading, though the precocious 9 to 12, with interest already aroused in the subject, would find it enlightening and comprehensible. Peter has a reporter uncle, and goes with him to see a story through the press. He doesn't expect to get a break like writing up his own account of the interview with visiting notables -- but his uncle indicates that such is his role, and his story makes the front page. He follows it through every stage, and through his eyes, and ears, boys and girls will follow each step of production of a modern newspaper, as concerned with seeing a place from interview to reading public. The photographs which illustrate successive phases help clarify the occasional complicated procedure.
