KIRKUS REVIEW

St. Ives again on his third junket -- less than curdling but agreeable enough. This time St. Ives is hired to negotiate the return of some damaging journals for a master thief, a non-violent, Sunday painter with faint Robin Hood pretensions. He soon finds himself along on a turbulent heist from a heroin syndicate, with attendant chase and gunfire. St. Ives jogs along at his own airy pace, noting who takes sugar in his coffee or the qualities of wind and weather in Manhattan and Washington. Nice chap.
