A gift book for the Christmas trade- and a plus item which should appeal to many who want something more than a Christmas card. (Too bad the price could not have been kept down to $1.50 like the comparable Small Miracle by Paul Gallico in the same category).... It is a charming recapturing of personal experience in visiting Bethlehem at Christmastide, and the reader shares with the author the sense of seeing the ancient times telescoped into modern Palestine- specifically Jerusaleum and Bethlehem and the five miles of countryside between. Throughout, one senses the exaltation, the spiritual fervor, that inspired the journey. A vivid piece of writing, with line decorations by Christine Price reflecting the atmosphere of the telling.
