MYSTERY OF THE MAYAN JEWELS

The Mayan grave jewels owned by her family are given too much publicity when talkative little Martide, Costa Rican girl, visits New York. Her parents go out one evening and two men break into their hotel room and steal the treasures. Martida, through her keenness and courage, helps find the thieves and bring them to justice. Good background material for schools and libraries in the authentic picture of Costa Rica; characters and plot are routine but appealing, the text direct, well paced.
