TWO LANDS FOR MING

By

Pub Date: March 5th, 1945
Publisher: Scribner

An important addition to Scribner's Children of the United Nations series. Kwok Ming, like the co-author Chin, grows up in China, though his parents are American citizens. He goes to school, takes part in the festivals, and absorbs the swiftly shifting though traditionally colorful atmosphere which is China, yesterday and today. Kwok Ming is a bright average boy, happy and purposeful in his own country, and adjusting quickly when he comes to San Francisco and new ways. The episodes in which he experiences appreciation and awareness of the new land while sharing with others his loyalty to his Chinese background is fresh in approach, unpretentious, interesting and well-written.
