HERE LIVED THE CALIFORNIANS

An album of photographs- more than 100- and a generous text presents the infinite variety of California homes from the Mexican adobes of two hundred years ago to the glass and chrome houses of today. The phases of architecture, as influenced by foreign settlers, by the Argonauts, through the ostentation of the ""Age of the Moguls"" and on past the turn of the century, are indicated along with the interesting features of the particular houses and the literary and historical associations they hold for viewers of today. It should be a handsome volume- of particular pictorial- regional value.
