KIRKUS REVIEW

The versatile, experimental Schlemmer -- painter, sculptor, choreographer, dancer, stage designer -- evokes the fabulous Bauhaus eta in his personal papers (1910-43) collected here by his wife. Some entries ""might prove offensive to: certain contemporaries"" (Gropius, Klee, Kandinsky, Hindemith, et al.) but the real interest centers on the development of Schlemmer's artistic sensibility.
