KIRKUS REVIEW

The first complete reference book to all the aircraft ever flown in regular service by the Naval Wing of the Royal Flying Corps the Royal Naval Air Service and the Fleet Air Arm. A companion volume to the author's earlier Aircraft of the Royal Air Force, it maintains the same format: each main type of aircraft is illustrated with one or more photographs and a view drawing, accompanied by general narrative on operational history and technical specifications. The aircraft are listed alphabetically under manufacturers. Over 100 types range from the Avro 504 to the Wight ""Converted"" Seaplane. Appendices cover 130 more types of aircraft, airships which came under the control of the Royal Navy between January 1914 and December 1919, etc.
