Lovers of the weird and lurid will enjoy close-ups of the mosquito and tick swollen with human blood, the fly maggot eating a cricket, and the ox-pecker bird digging inside the water buffalo's nose for parasites. But, as with other titles in the series, the information presented is not really developed; moreover, both parasitic and symbiotic relationships are shown here without carefully distinguishing the concepts involved. Some captions add little information: ""Acorn Barnacle. This Barnacle, probably so-called because it looks rather like an acorn, is riding along on a seashore crab.""
