A sincere but patently propagandist novel of a child-patriot who experiences many romanesque adventures at the outbreak of the civil war in Barcelona, joining hands with an Italian hero, Carlito, and saving him from death. Many hairbreadth escapes, and finally the boy returns home to convert his family to Fascism, and its virtues. Enjoyable reading, if on the improbably side.
