LE CASE DEL DIEVOLO: Devils' Abodes

An interesting novel with a topical theme which lends it greater importance than it might ordinarily have, dealing with Palestine today, -- with the two worlds, one semitic, one Arabic, in conflict -- both struggling for supremacy, freedom and justice. There is, remarkably enough, no strong propagandist slant on the Jewish-Arabian debacle. Both sides are presented with detachment and sympathy. The plot of the novel is dual, the romance of a young Jewish girl on the one hand, the struggle for power through money by an Arab on the other. An exciting story, vigorously handled.
