PAT'S HARMONY

A love of a book for horse lovers is the fictionalization of the life of the renowned show winning horse and rider team of three years ago- young Patricia Lee and the hunter, Harmony. The story version has Pat growing up on a ranch, and from the time she was thirteen, caring for what at first was a very unpromising, scrawny colt and raising him to be the magnificent working hunter that he was. All the elements of a good horse story, training trials, accidents, horse courage when Harmony kills a wolf, worries as to whether or not to sell the hunter for some badly needed family funds- are part of the account that takes Pat and Harmony through their first big successes. Oliver Grimley's line drawings lack grace and volume but are enough like Paul Brown's work to be satisfying.
