KIRKUS REVIEW

Supercharged little sweetmeat, this story of a young woman, as good as she is pretty, who loses husband and child after a year of idyllic marriage, and who adopts a informal foundling to help her forget her ""own brui"". She wears her martyr's crown gracefully enough and manages to bring the child some degree of happiness and confidence- and through this finds her own happiness.
