A Victorian alphabet book, which might have a postponed sale for a somewhat effete valentine, but which will sell at the moment largely to adults who like the studied elegance of Pamela Bianco's work. Actually, it would be a rare child who found anything appealing; frilly small boys and small girls, set in Victorian frames, with limping verses, humorless, graceless, introducing Suzanne and Laura and Catherine and Gabriel and many utterly unfamiliar and unlikely names. Sharply defined sale.
