Vassar '78 tells of her youth under a famous mother (Elizabeth Cady Stanton) and amplifies and continues the story of the fight for women's rights begun in Created Equal. (See page 109 -- 3/1/40 bulletin.) She tried to escape the family constriction and go to Cornell -- but was thwarted. After an interlude in England, she returned to the U. S. and concentrated on the battle for suffrage, a long battle on many fronts. She concludes that women have let down a cause for which other women fought. Good women's club material.
