Duck and Frog don't know what game to play, so they look for Fox and ask him: he suggests asking Mouse, and so it goes until the creatures in one of Hutchins' original favorites, The Surprise Party (1969), are assembled. What shall they play? Hide-and-seek, of course, so each hides where he was just found. Hutchins' illustrations are as crisp, decorative, and full of appeal as ever.
