A study in human relationships in this account of a family that followed a crazy impulse and wound up in a small New Mexican village. Pat had to go west to lick a sinus condition, and a car breakdown resulted in his stopping in New Mexico and setting up a bakery shop there. There are no utilities, no money -- and business develops a cash-trade-barter system. Their failure is of their own making, and ultimately they retrieve themselves and head for success. Their boners are overlooked by the community and the whole episode is a pleasant reflection of decency, small community cooperation. Nice!
