CLUCK CLUCK

Like Casey's Quack Quack (1988), this lacks substance but is illustrated with flair: finding the chicken-run empty, a dog searches for the hens, finds them (plus a fox) in the cabbage patch, chases the fox away, and urges the hens home for their dinner. The simple text is appropriate for the youngest listeners. The hens, realistically painted, convey the essence of those foolish, easily ruffled birds. Pleasant, but not important, this could also be used for beginning readers.
