Carefully tending her mother's powerful elixir of indestructibility while Big Witch picks moon herbs for the potion, Coombs' well known little witch is unaware of the greenish eyes peering through the tower window. . .the greenish fingers sliding through the cracks to test the latch. . .the gleaming greenish teeth as green' toes creep up behind her. . . . This time Dorrie and her friend Mr. Obs must spend several hours as toads before Big Witch comes home to disenchant them; meanwhile the villain, Green Wizard, makes himself so durable with an overdose of the elixir that he turns to stone. The wait for mother's spell to work is eased with watercress sandwiches ("" 'Toads eat a lot,' croaked Dorrie happily""), and when it's over Mr. Obs' commemorates the ""Tea for Toads"" with a violin solo. More shivery fun for fans of the indestructible Dorrie.
